Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder

It can be due to:

• A conditioned negative response following food intake, such as a choking episode

• Lack of interest in food

Note that this disorder is not due to a lack of food availability (e.g. not due to poverty), or better explained by an underlying medical condition.
